Summary


iWishUX is an Experience Agency. We imagine people enjoying life to be the focal point of existence.  We help people enjoy life through UX Research & Design.  Within different industries, depths of engagement, and scopes (end-to-end or as segments of the design thinking process), our ad-hoc team seeks to help. We start with a consultation to understand your needs, explain and example how we think we can help (sometimes verbal, sometimes visual), deliberate on an SOW, then we get to work.

For us to get to work, you need to be a decision maker. You have budget making power or can inform someone who does. You have a problem or something to explore. You are willing to say “ I wish insert your problem” because “insert your reason” (it makes alignment and understanding your perceived needs a little easier).

Description


iWishUX helps people wish for and make a better world by using UX Research and Interaction Design. We work on projects across industries and form (digital, conceptual, physical) as we have an adhoc team of talented individuals who know that process delivers results. People may need end-to-end help or specific segment help and at different scopes of engagement (like only research, or only strategy documentation, a little prototyping, or a lot of design, etc.).

Problem 


People are missing the big picture.  Quality of life is not improving despite technological advancements (Social Progress Index NewYorkTimes, September 2020), and the focal points of living (such as people, earth, love, and fulfillment) are becoming blurry.

Project Objective 


  1. Research a better world through Experience Research / UX Research.

  2. Design a better world through Interaction Design, Service Design, and Experience Design/UX Design.

  3. Advise, Consult to, and Teach others the value of empathy, diversity, how to approach problems, and design thinking towards a better world.

  4. Elucidate design processes so more people can thoughtfully design a better world.

  5. Explore new ideas and prototype a better world.

  6. Conserve resources over time for designing a better world by expending more attentive energy upfront. 

Deliverables 


It depends on your wishes! It could be running a design sprint or running research or designing an experience or interaction that occurs via digital (like an app), physical (like a product), service (like attending a restaurant), process (like how a team accomplishes something), or graphics (like the things one looks at)!

Our work is iterative.  The aforementioned is a scattered, very high level (think top of empire state building looking down) overview. Basically we follow the design thinking process but pay special attention to empathy, experience, and usability before thinking about form or aesthetic.

TBD We usually conduct our research in 4-6 week cycles. Designs vary. We do short projects, long term projects, segments of the design process, and end-to-end design.

As an adhoc team, we’ve got a diversity of skillsets + interests, and we’re many. 

We assemble when we learn of a project. We refernce philosphies by Nielsen Norman and IDEO.

In-Kind Work 


We want more people to experience good design. As such, each month we’ll take on in-kind or “pro bono“ heuristic evaluations (and maybe other stuff if we have the time).  A huerisitic evaluation is a type of usability test or UX audit (basically we look for unintenionally broken conventions, and general challenges/unhelpful noise). This is our opportunity to give back, educate, spread our design approaches, make connections, and explore different needs.
